You’re gonna love making these luscious lovely lava cakes! Say that 5 times fast! For the ooey-est gooey-est results, serve these lava cakes immediately!
Stuff you'll need:
muffin tin Medium and large stainless steel bowls Eggbeaters/stand mixer Spatulas Measuring cups and spoons Grown-up (to help with the oven and stove)
1 tablespoon of melted butter 4 tablespoons of softed butter 1/3 cup of sugar plus 1 tablespoon (for dusting the pan) 8 oz of bittersweet chocolate 1/3 cup of all purpose flour 1/4 teaspoon of salt 3 large eggs 1/4 cup of milk chocolate chips Icing sugar (optional)
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees
Prepare your pan by brushing 6 muffin cups with melted butter and then sprinkle each cup with sugar.
Add your flour and salt to a medium size bowl and set aside.
Melt the chocolate by preparing a Bain Marie; fill a heavy bottomed pot with 1/4 cup of water and place in on the stove to simmer.
Put your chocolate in a stainless steel bowl and set the bowl on top of the pot simmer on the stove. Carefully take the bowl off when you see that all of the chocolate has melted.
In a large bowl or the bowl of your stand mixer, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
With your mixer on low, add your eggs to the bowl one at a time.
Add your vanilla.
Stir in your flour and salt.
Add your melted chocolate to your bowl and mix until it’s all combined.
Fill your prepared muffin tins 3/4 of the way up.
In the centre of each cake stuff 8 milk chocolate chips.
Bake for 8-10 minutes, or when they no longer jiggle when the pan is wiggled.
Allow the cakes to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before turning them out.
Sprinkle with icing sugar (optional) or serve with a yummy scoop of ice cream!!
